WE ARE ASKING VOLUNTEERS TO GROW AN EXTRA ROW OF VEGETABLES IN THEIR GARDEN THIS SUMMER.  THAT EXTRA ROW WILL BE DONATED TO A SOUP KITCHEN, FOOD BANK, OR MISSION.  PLEASE REPORT POUNDS GROWN AND DONATED.  YOU CAN REPORT THAT INFORMATION AT RON4SENATE@COMCAST.NET

The Seattle Times reported on December 21, 2009 that enrollment in the Washington State food-stamp program is up 60% over the past two years.  That means that 855,000 people in Washington State rely on food stamps to feed their family.

GLEANING project prevents waste and picked produce benefits food banks.

Gleaning is what we do after a harvest or when we use food from fruit trees that would otherwise go to waste.  We can save food from rotting in the fields or our neighbors backyard by volunteering to glean.  For more information check the link below.
